Big Metal Pot
Big Metal Pot
Does anyone know where I could buy a big metal pot? I want to throw wood in it and make a fire for roasting stuff (like marshmallows and sausages). Would a hardware store be the right place?
Thanks for your help!

What about a brick barbecue?raumagal wrote:Do you mean something like a Hibatchi? I have a grill but I wanted something that we could sit around and I could make a fire in.

There are also various roofed versions for bad weather. (Check out those pictures behind that link.)
Or perhaps something like this?

A big brick grill would be nice but I'm not particularly skilled in do-it-yourself type projects!
That looks a bit challenging for me. Piling up some bricks is about my speed!
Here's a picture of the pot I saw...

Teh Interweb is full of detailed step-by-step DIY instructions for building one, though.raumagal wrote:A big brick grill would be nice but I'm not particularly skilled in do-it-yourself type projects! That looks a bit challenging for me. Piling up some bricks is about my speed! :D

That centre one looks like it would almost be fun to build...
A bag of cement, some pea gravel both for laying on the ground and to mix into the cement, some grout, maybe a hundred bricks...the grill and the fire tray and... Voilà!! A barbeque that'll last for years!!! Better than those crappy metal things that'll rust out before you know it, because you forgot to empty out the rainwater...
Can't cost much more than 50 or 60 euro...but I don't know prices over there... First weekend... pour the concrete foundation; second weekend, build the barbeque.... The only thing that might require a bit of thought is the support for the two trays... I'd probably opt for pieces of angle iron grouted in, but I guess there are other options...
