Host families in Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa needed for international students --

Dear citizens of Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa,
I am pleased to inform you that Up with People, the international educational organization is coming to Espoo for a week stay from September 5-11. 2007.
Together with the community of Espoo, Up with People is now preparing for Cast C 2007’s arrival on September 5.
Up with People is a global education program focusing on leadership development, community service learning, music performance, cultural appreciation, and civic engagement. These concepts are developed as international students from over 20 countries travel together and visit North America, Asia and Europe.
Part of the cultural learning aspect of the program involves living in host families. Therefore, we are now searching for host families for our 70 students from countries like Venezuela, Croatia, USA, Mexico, Bulgaria, China etc. As a host family you will get the opportunity to bring a piece of the world into your home, share your culture, and learn about a different one. As a host family, we kindly ask you to provide:
A bed our a spare mattress
Breakfast and dinner during the week (lunch on the free day)
Transportation from and to the meeting location on arrival and departure days
A nice typical Finnish home environment for your student(s)
To give back and thank the communities that we visit, we are partnering with local charity organizations in order to leave a lasting impact in the city. We engage in community service activities with- and for them, and donate the revenues from the Up with People show to this charity. Among others, Up with People will be working and partnering with the Ronald Mc Donald house in Helsinki.
Up with People´s visit and involvement in Espoo is highlighted by a multi cultural musical show performance at the Tapiolasali in Espoo on September 8 at 19:30. As a host family you will receive two free tickets to the show.
