Post by mycp2005 » Mon Sep 24, 2007 2:12 pm

Hi,

I am in the 18th week of my pregnancy and I would like to know what massage oils can be used when there is back ache? I wish to avoid painkillers, hence need some info on oils that can be massaged to the back for relief.
Also their finnish names would be helpful.

Thanks Sara for the immediate reply.

Additionally, I have one more concern that my skin is getting drier day by day though I do drink a lot of water and eat fruits.

I need some suggestions on the names of some good body moisturisers which people have used and found them good

Skin can go dry during pregnancy so dont worry. I like the Dove creams or then the Body shop body butters. Anything you like the smell off and use often enough will do the job :D

Cream or oil of herb called "Arnica" is very good for muscle pain. You can find it in the organic store close to Kamppi.

For dry skin: my skin also became very dry when I got pregnant so I use either 100% jojoba or almond oil and add some essential oils to it (I like rose, lavender, etc). This is a great way to prevent stretch marks as well. It's very safe for your baby as well.

Also you can try taking bath with few drops - not too much or else you will shine like a grease ball  - of extra virgin olive oil (the one in your kitchen will do just fine). It makes your skin incredibly supple!
