Anyone been to Sirkus Finlandia?
Anyone been to Sirkus Finlandia?
Just wondering if it's appropriate for children under a yr old? My daughter is 11 months now and enjoyed all kinds of different outdoor entertainment throughout the summer, but I was wondering if the Circus has any loud sudden bangs/explosions or water splashing into the audience, etc...???

We go every year and it is great fun , maybe next year would be better for her.

We were walking by it this morning and I asked the lady at the ticket booth if there was an age limit and she said no. I completely forgot to ask though about the loudness/splashing/explosion type things. Thanx for the tips.
Anyone been this year yet? I know it's only just started a week ago or so (in hki), but any reviews yet?

We went to sirkus finlandia when our daughter was 10 months old. We were a bit sceptical about it, but we got free tickets so we decided to go anyway. She actually did watch some of the scenes and was mesmerized or seemed to be. She clapped when everybody clapped to and smiled alot
I think the clapping was the most fun for her. We didn't end up staying for the whole show 'coz she was a bit tired and also we made sure we sat away from the speakers... it was pretty loud.

saving chimpanzees is a big hairy deal
Sounds good! I think I'll take her tomorrow then and if it's too much for her, we'll just leave. I can't waitRA wrote:We went to sirkus finlandia when our daughter was 10 months old. We went yesterday and it was ok. Though it was on a Friday afternoon at 3 so it wasn't full. It's loud but not too bad except when the clowns do their whistling trick, it is annoying after 2 mn.
It was a nice show, my daughters enjoyed it but for the price you pay for a ticket I was expecting something a bit better.

It depends on what you're expecting... its a carney show... and deffo the best (as its only) in Finland. And if you complain of the prices, theres a bad Hank that will come and chew your head off...
atleast it doesn't cost an arm and a few legs like Cirque Du Soleil that was in town.
Sirkus Finlandia is the oldest of the few going circuses in Finland, but it dates only from the 1970's... there was at one point and time it was the only one, Finland has this thing called climate, so the "tour season" is limited. It seems though the circus art that seemed to be doomed for extinction had a revival and now theres a few other circuses in Finland... maybe nothing to run away with, but anyhow...

The good thing for having a clown at home is you don't need to pay for circus

We were on the A section, second row and were fine. On the first rows the one going around the "stage" it might be very noisy. The clowns splash water there and also "explode" little balloons filled with conofetti so that might be scary for some kids. Also when the horses are doing their shows it might be noisy and impressive if you're on the very front.ScubaGirl wrote:I've learned not to expect much in the way of entertainment here (go ahead and brutalize me HankAmandine.K wrote:We went yesterday and it was ok. Do you happen to remember where the speakers are situated? Could you recommend a place to sit where we wouldn't be too close to them? Here's a link to the seating chart http://www.sirkusfinlandia.com/liput.html

I can't really remember for the speakers, I didn't pay attention. But it wasn't that loud as I could speak with my daughters without shouting. They really enjoyed it though, the dogs didn't go down well, it was hard to know if they were behaving the way they were trained or not. I'd be interested to know what you think! lol We had to leave before the end as my husband booked our train too early so that was disappointing (we left after the dogs show). But my daughters were starting to be a bit fed up. They have a 15 minutes break during the show so if you don't want to buy overpriced popcorn or juice take some snacks
