recycling electronics?

Post by interleukin » Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:52 am

Hi all,
can someone tell me where to bring electronics (computer screens, old comp. mice or keyboards, etc) to have them recycled? Non-functional things I mean, not to be resold.

I am in Helsinki (Meilahti), and do not have access to a car.

Best regards,
interleukin

Well, they actually will come somewhere close to you if you're patient and wait. Its once or twice in the year, usually in the spring, and your local siwa or your house will be will be having something like this... reading when and where tha trucks will be... though then take the neighbourhoods kids with you as its max 3 items per person.
Cheers, Hank W.

Not having access to transport posses a problem of "how do you carry the stuff?"...
If that can be solved disposal is at the main Helsinki Recycling Depot..

FOC for household stuff..which means one cannot turn up with a truck load..
Location Betonitie 3 in Konnala..Near the Teboil bensin station on Porintie close to the border with Hanksville/Pähkinärinne.

put it into search on this map..

People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

You already got an answer but more exactly:

Sortti-asemat carry out recycling etc. of housegold gadgets and electronics in the "PK-seutu" region.

There are in theory 3 places you could use, although the one in Espoo is far out in the bushes (aka outside Kehä 3 ring road). All might charge you a marginal fee for leaving the stuff there (depends on the stuff you bring, microwave oven was free-of-charge).
