Reima vs other brands

Post by Spectra » Wed Oct 31, 2007 7:05 pm

I'm looking to buy a new winter suit for my 2 year old boy. we had a Reima Tec suit last year and it was GREAT. Loved it.

What about the other brands though? I'm not too excited about buying an 80-100 euro suit....

Lassie is much cheaper but is it really good?
Polarn o. Pyret. They are on expensive side (what are the prices this year?) but are they worth it?

How are they comparable to Reima?

Thanks :=)

I've lways bought Lassie for my daughters and I haven't been disappointed. They've always been warm during winter and they lasted all the way.

Our littlest lad has a Reima tec and it is quality...

The older boys have had Rukka and they are not as good but still good. The material is not as waterproof as the Remia tec but at the end of the day they it did its job.

Is there really a difference between Reima tec and just Reima?

I've been told that the Reima tec has the seams "taped" so water doesn't get through there. Does it really make a difference?

Yes!! Reima tec is way better than Reima!!
Polar n Pyret is good but way too expensive..and not as good as Reima tec when it comes to price-quality ratio..
Lassie and Reima are pretty good too!!
One thing that we do is buy a couple of sizes larger and use layers to make up for the shortfall in the size!!

I have bought Lassie for my kids and they've lasted through
many seasons worth of hard wear and tear on my three boys,
which I can't say for any of the higher-priced stuff that we've
been given over the years.

My kids are out of Reima now but I remember being a bit disappointed with the last anoraks and snow trousers we bought. The colours faded dramatically in the wash (I was careful to follow the instructions) and the outer layer seemed to split very easily, I was forever stitching them up. Now we tend to go for the cheaper stuff, either from Decathlon (France) or from places like Stadium. But if we have a really really cold winter I might think again.

Since I've never bought Lassie suits, can you tell me if there are any differences within the brand, like there is in Reima? Are there better quality Lassie (like LassieTec or something)?

Thanks!

Where are those sales on Lassie? Remember any of them?

Having a sleepover tonight and one of the children has a Lassie Tec coat but I don't know how that is different from regular Lassie coats.

We have had both Reima and Lassie and haven't had any problems with either brand.

So we went out shopping and found a great deal at Budget Sport that we couldn't pass. Raiski brand winter suits--regular price 129euros, on sale for 60. They have some DryMaxx "technology" to keep the moisture out but lets the sweat out at the same time.

But before buying that we bought a Lassie haalari too  since the store had only one more left in the size we needed, and we figured we could return it if needed. Lassie was 20 euros cheaper.

What are your consumer (and parental ;) opinions on Raiski? It's part of the Halti group, so when I saw that I was sold...

Raiski comments, anyone?

A major con of the Lassie suit--very bulky compared to Reima and Raiski...
