A piece of bread. But a 7 month old doesn´t need snacks.

bananas. you can scrape them with a spoon for the kid
straight out of the peel, or if they're mushy enough, give
some to the kid (and spread out a shower curtain under
his high chair).

OMG.... please do not give your baby CHIPS.....

They are full of oil which has been heated to a very high temperature which releases toxins etc etc etc They are full of calories and no nourishment.... basically a waste of time. The GI index of chips is through the roof, so they will just make your baby feel hyper and even more hungry.

Babies do not need snacks. Snacking is a bad habit that you want to avoid. Start now and you child will snack all his life.

Give him plenty to drink (water) between meals and keep him busy so he does not associate snacking with boredom.

If desperate then I'd agree with the banana suggestion. Or apple/pear pieces.

my younger brother loved carrots. He loved chewing on a peeled carrot.

How can your child need a snack?
I only ask as my little one has 3 meals a day and milk in between.
She would be sick if I offered a snack aswell.
Do you mean foods that the child can hold and feed itself perhaps?

Mine is 9 months old and I don't give her any snacks between meals. Only when she sees me or us eating (in a cafe, restaurant or at home) she might be interested in what I am putting in my mouth and thus I give her a tiny piece.

I think the "chips" nopa means are "maissi naksuja", they're 100% maize, with naturally 2% of fat( i think) and they most definately have not been cooked in oil. I occasionally give those to my DS during meal times, other little things that he gets that he can feed to himself are bits of fruit and vegetables( like pears, apples, cucumber and carrots for example), bits of rice cake( the unsalted ones) and bits of bread... HTH :)

They also have a VERY high GI. I wouldn't give them to a child.

We have a 7 month old. If he's hungry he gets milk, or a meal, or some fruit. Given the randomness of tje routines of children of this age, the idea of snacks is fairly bizarre.

I'm told that carrots are good for teething, but after getting a tooth ours managed to get a chunk off the end of a carrot, resulting in a hilarious carrot 3d jigsaw to work out where all the bits went.

When ours was about 7-8 month old we'd put bananas in the freezer for a bit, just enough for the banana to get a bit hard, then set it out in room temperature for a while before giving it to her so it's not too cold. She loved the taste of the banana and it wouldn't get too mushy too quickly either and it was great for teething. I think I got that tip off this forum actually...
