28 hours in Jyväskylä

Post by Jukka Aho » Sun Nov 11, 2007 12:59 am

Pretty cool time-lapse video of various places in and around Jyväskylä, a city of 80,000 in central Finland: (And the imagery is nicely synchronized to the soundtrack as well!)

(No, I don’t have any ties to the author. Someone just posted the link on an IRC channel where I hang around.)

Very nice. I was surprised at how dark it was at night. The only date I saw was on a banner advertising something 10-12.7, so I'm guessing it was filmed prior to that date.

Wow, an excellent video!!! There were only very few places I didn't recognise where they are. I also liked the color very much, very bright and highly saturated so it almost looks surreal. Or then it's just the screen of the puter I'm using right now.

My guess is that the clip is assembled from material filmed on different days, as in some parts you see kauppakatu full of stands (porobably filmed during Neste Rally in August...?) as in others there is only the tent in front of Jyväshovi.

That would explain why the night was so dark.

An excellent video. I put it on my Realplayer libarary. Cool soundtrack too. I must remark on how clean and modern that Jyvaskyla is. I wish our small cities in Canada would look like this.

Thanks for sharing.

Great! Thanks for the link. Got to download the hires version at home...

...although my memories of my old home town aren't that hectic, and certainly not accompanied by that particular music! :)
