Bass Fishing

Post by catfish78 » Sun Dec 09, 2007 12:47 pm

I have used the search and found a good bit of fishing, however I am trying to find out if there are bass here in Finland. I know that there are sea bass but I am looking for the bass below. I have googled and haven't found much and what i have found is in Finnish which doesn't help without pictures. So if you know if there are any here let me know where.

I have no idea where to catch bass in Finland, nor do I know if there are any bass in Finland. So I guess that does not answer your question. But your posting just gave me good feelings about being back in Wisconsin on a quiet lake with my brother nailing some large mouths early in the morning!

I know what you are saying. I moved here from WI. I was brought up a largemouth fisherman till I moved up north and fell in love with smallies. I figured they might have some around here some where.

You won't find any of those here. The closest you'll get is Perca fluviatilis or the European Perch. You'll also find Zander or Pike Perch here too. The latter tastes better.

I know what pike perch are. In the US and Canada we call the walleye. I was just curious if any bass besides sea bass were here.

Thanks Neil
