Kovalainen steps aside as "threat" to Alonso

Post by otyikondo » Mon Dec 10, 2007 3:54 pm

Well, it's a compliment in a way. Renault dropped Heikki Kovalainen in the interests of team harmony, as he might have beaten Fernando Alonso.

Interesting to see what happens to the poor boy if he dares beat the wonder-Swiss Hamilton. Although it looks as if some of the gilt has come off Lewis Hamilton's gingerbread. There seemed to be widespread relief he did NOT win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Of course he could go instead to Toyota and pair up with Jarno Saarinen... oh, sorry, Trulli.

Wherever he goes, Kovalainen has a bright future. Better than Ralf
He was the slowest of 4 drivers trying for a drive with Force India last week.

Ralf said after that test drive..
"It looks like that was the last time I will drive a Formula One car."

Down to the last line in that BBC report for info on the McLaren job.

Heikki Kovalainen has to wait until next month to see if he joins Hamilton.
Or if McLaren, do like Renault, and pick someone like Ralf who is unlikely to spoil Lewis Hamilton's fun.
Schumacher has already declared his interest in filling the McLaren drive vacated by Spaniard Fernando Alonso and has been told they will make a decision on who will partner Lewis Hamilton in January.
People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

It was released that Kovalainen signed a "multi" year contract with McLaren :D I'm sure he will give Hamilton a go. You can look at it as a swap. Alonso with his whining and big buck contract for Kovalainen, a budjet rookie. Who won? I think Mclaren got a steal. Now....if only they can build an honest car.......
