BBC World?

Post by jwoods » Sat Dec 15, 2007 11:06 am

Hello!

Anyone know why I can't find BBC World on my DVB-C box? Living in Helsinki...

Welho lists it on their website as a free basic channel, but I my digibox doesn't seem t find it, despite me trying to getting it to rescan for channels several times!

Cheers,

I remember some people having it on analogue cable (together with MTV), perhaps it doesn't come on digital?
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I have BBC world and BBC Prime through Welho's IPTV service...the TV, box on top, card etc all seemed to talk to each other and find the channel no problem...so it is out there. Whether it is worth the effort to watch it is another matter.....

But IPTV isn't cable though. That's TV over ADSL I believe?

Wouldn't it be easiest to check Welho's website first before asking here...

I did - and it has a BBC World logo, implying the channel was included. Hence the reason I posted here to ask why I can't seem to tune into it

That's why there's Welho phone service in English.

They're phone service in English is pretty good. We've used it and had no problems...

this happened to me because i couldnt find some of the included channels as well. its most likely your cable going from the wall to the digibox...its probably outdated and you need a new one issued by welho. they'll give you one for free as far as I know. this should pick up the new channels

but give them a call anyway and ask, they're friendly on the phone in English

Finally found out the problem, the wall socket was labelled incorrectly.

God knows why I was getting any cable channels at all though the R (radio) socket!
