Scholarship from Finnish foundations - work to repay debt

Post by wyone » Thu Dec 20, 2007 9:55 pm

:D Terve, mitä kuuluu? I am a foreigner from Singapore, outside the EU/ EEA, who is interested in pursuing university education in Finland. However, I cannot afford the living expenses, as the exchange rate is far higher than what I could possibly earn for the foreseeable future.

Are there any Finnish foundations that could support me during my studies? In return, I would voluntarily work for the organisation upon graduation, or for humanitarian organisations or charities or for a good cause to repay my debt.

I am especially interested in healthcare, life science, medical science, natural sciences, biotechnology and medicine.

Are there any Finnish foundations, organisations or charities which would agree to fund a student's living expenses while she studies, and in return, accept voluntary work or a bond to work for that foundation, organisation or charity upon graduation for a period of years?

I am very willing to sign a contract if I can offer my services and skills to the benevolent host who supports my studies in Finland, and repay them by working for them after graduation.

Does anyone have any contacts, links or opportunities where I can approach such Finnish foundations or organisations to support my studies and allow me to work for them after I graduate, in order to repay them?

Any other suggestions, ideas or opportunities are very welcome! I really want to come to Finland to enrol in university education!

Please help, anyone! Apua!

Kiitos paljon,
Wyone. :!:

Why would we have such a funding system, as "studying is free" to start with?
Cheers, Hank W.
