Hi,
I have just been refused permission to install a Sat Antenna (about 80cm wide) by my housing company.
I asked for a reason, they refused to give one.
Basically they said I can install one in my balcony, only problem is that reception inside the balcony would be impossible.
Isn't there some EU law regarding refusing tennants satellite transmissions?
Any loopholes out there?
All advice is welcome.
Anyone know about housing company "law" regarding Satellite

Its got not as much to do with the housing company legislation, except for the part that it is the company's wall and windows. Its probably got more to do about all the facade structures regulated by city zoning laws. There is no plan for a satellite antenna structure outside the walls in the building drawings is there? Walk around and look how many outside-balcony antennas there are... Helsinki doesn't allow such contraptions without a building permit. Which is then the trouble of getting a building permit as then all shareholders are equal if one gets a satellite antenna if they allow one they have to allow everybody - so the house will look like a hedgehog - not to mention as it is on the wall the company is responsible of the structures. Which of course they do not want to be liable for as ice dropping from the roof will quite nicely snap the dish off - that is when we get a proper winter. Not to mention the wiring and such. And then having say a common antenna on the roof as many do, then you get another sort of financial issue as the company has to pay broadcast royalties.
So, as nobody is refusing you to having a satellite antenna - just as per the rules it must reside within in your balcony. What are you whining about again? That your balcony is into the wrong direction? Now that is not the housing companys problem is it? You need to complain to the EU that the satellites are flying in the wrong orbit.
