So then I've never really seen the need of getting a sphincter transplant, after sampling a few items found in the funky stores on Hämeentie and being afraid to fart lest I wore tin underwear I can then also say I have also grown my own, so unless you're satisfied with LIDL seeds you can order online and grow your own. Good fun, a bit of work but good fun.

Old-timers like myself remember the first immigrants who came to Finland in the 70s. Those people were from Chile and you can still probably find many of them around Helsinki. Members of this forum, too?

My Spanish teacher in the past five years was also Chilean, but she came to Finland for other reasons (man?).

Welcome everybody!

PS. Ronbladholm, wines are plentiful here and not bad at all.

Actually not sure if Chiles ever made it to Chile - Andes pretty high :)

The fact is that I have nevr seen a Chile in Finland that is from the 'tasty' varieities - except the Habanero.

The ones on Hämeentie and in K-S shops are the 'simple hot' - and are generally to be avoided.
What do you mean? Those tiny little chili peppers are fine (and plenty hot) from the refridge sections of Hämeentie, but mostly for chopping and cooking, not to be used raw or something.

I want to grow a crop of chilis this spring in my window, and wonder if it is possible to grow proper HOT chilis indoors? Any experience, anyone? Especially Habanero, as I am of this type of flavor enhancer.

Unless you're a total killer with plants - if you google for "chilien kotikasvatus"... a lot of people grow them. Seems to have become a fad of sorts.

Misunderstandings may have been aroused, because chile is usually spelt chili in the case of spices.
