Resident permit in another EU country!

Post by phiva » Thu Dec 27, 2007 3:59 pm

Hi everyone,

I am from Asia, studying Bachelor degree in Nederlands and now I transfer to Finland. The point is I got resident permit from Nederlands and it is valid until Sep 3 2008. So, when I come to Finland next February, do I need to apply Finnish resident permit? I also got the working permit from Nederlands and wonder if its possible to work in Finland with other EU working permit?

I really appreciate your replies!

Happy New Year all!

Nederlands is Nedrlands and Finland is Finland. So are you coming for a student exchange through some programme or are you transferring totally here? Anyhow, you need to take all your paperwork to the Finnish embassy in Amsterdam and apply for a Finnish student's residence permit (which then allows you to work part time). But you need to show the 6000 euros etc. etc. as you are a non-EU citizen, no way around with that.
Cheers, Hank W.

Not to mention the health care insurance that seem to be even more difficult than coughing up the 6000 EUR...
