10 000 kg candy ***FREE***

Post by Rosamunda » Thu Feb 14, 2008 9:13 am

*** WARNING*** unusual behaviour by indigenous Finns in city centre today.

Today is Penkkari so the students are out on the streets distributing candy.... from about midday onwards. So, don't be alarmed, paranoid, upset, angry or otherwise culturally challenged if you get hit on the head by a bag of Marianne's in the city centre today; it is supposed to be fun (the students finish school today and start revising for their exams).

The routes are in yesterday's Hesari but basically cover the city centre (Lönnrot, Bulevardi, Esplanadi and the coast road) and also Vantaa and Espoo (from Tapiola around Olari/Matinkyla and back along the coast). Starts about 11:00 in Espoo and 12:30 in Helsinki.

I was wondering why there were lollies all over the road/sidewalks in Tikkurila just not long ago...
Pity they couldn't have aimed better, there was heaps that will most likely go to waste.
Or then some people are going to get bowled over by cars when they try to pick them up.
