Booooks:)

Post by Ewaldena » Fri Feb 29, 2008 6:31 pm

hello,
I've got a huge problem partly connected to Finland. I study political science in Poland and some time ago I choose parliamentary system in Finland as my MA thesis's topic and it's here where the problems start. :| Unfortunately, I can't find the number of books that I thought I would...
Could you help me if it's possible? Do you know any scientific books about finish, or maybe even Scandinavian parliamentary systems in english? :D I'd appreciate even the smallest clue.
thanks in advance :)

Well, you go to the Helsinki University library and ask a nice librarian ;) I think the database is online, but I'm too lazy today to compile you a list of possibles.

You could try using the search engine (in English) on this on-line bookshop for example:

https://www.akateeminenkirjakauppa.fi/w ... submit.y=0
https://www.akateeminenkirjakauppa.fi/w ... submit.y=0

You can also view the municipal library collections on-line but I will have to find the link....

or try contacting these people:

http://www1.edita.fi/publishing/english/

and there is public access to the library database in Parliament:

http://lib.eduskunta.fi/Resource.phx/li ... htx?lng=en
(plug <parliamentary system> into the search engine... it will throw up quite a few.)

and some documents are available on-line:

http://web.eduskunta.fi/Resource.phx/pa ... eports.htx

Some of these are not really books... "The Breakthrough..." is more like a brochure, only 30 pages - I picked it up for free somewhere.
