Universal Adaptor (Jyvaskyla)

Post by junsheng » Sun Mar 16, 2008 11:06 pm

Hi all,

I have been to Finland for about 3 weeks and am currently staying in Jyvaskyla.
My laptop's adaptor is 3-pin but I didn't actually bring a universal adaptor with me.
I haven been to Keskuta (town area) to look for one but couldn't find it too.
Could anyone tell me where would I be able to find one of those?
Or anyone living in the area who have an extra adaptor and could actually sell it to me.
Thanks.

Are those deparmental stores?

I've been to Sokos and couldn't find any. And I couldn't find even 1 electrical shop too. So it's been kind of hectic.

Don't look at the end that goes to the wall, look at the end that goes to the power unit. It comes off? So its easier to find the whole cable, about 5 euros or so. Don't try solve a problem if you can eliminate it

Well there's 2 parts to the charger.
One that's plugged into the laptop itself, and another that connects the first cable to the wall.
Is it called a Power Cord? That is what's written on the cable.

I have never thought about this before so I really haven't been keeping a lookout for these wires.
Thanks for the help! I hope I can find the wire somewhere.

They're almost all standardised, so if you find a store selling computers and laptops...

I haven't yet seen any shop that sells electrical appliances..
The closest is probably a shop that sells lamps..

I've seen plenty of cables though. Just have no idea if they are meant for laptops.

search in the "haku" field for LIITÄNTÄKAAPELI or VERKKOJOHTO
http://www.hintaseuranta.fi ( search for adaptor in the "haku" field)

But you need to know some Finnish

If the transformer (black box between wall outlet and laptop) has written on it something like " input voltage 100-240 volts AC" then cut off the plug to go into the wall and replace it with a Finnish one, simple.

I don't really know finnish.. but thanks for the help! ;D

The transformer says- INPUT: 100-240V~1.7A(1,7A) 50-60Hz

Probably will work ;D

I've seen all these brands somewhere before. If Antilla is a store, I think there's one just nearby,

Thanks, for the trouble you've gone to ;D
