American Items (In K-Market): Requests?

Post by efahey » Thu Apr 10, 2008 4:08 pm

So I have a question for you -

Recently I wrote K-Market to thank them for stocking their shelves with some american items and I requested a few items that I would like to have around. In response I received (i think 4 or 5) e-mails from various people from the company, the stores I usually visit (Iso Omena and Kamppi), and their distributor. They all wanted to know one thing: What the heck do americans want in the stores here?

So I turn to the only americans I know in Finland - what american items do you guys wish were available in stores here that aren't?

If you happen to know any more americans in Finland I would appreciate if you could forward this along, it would be great to get as many responses as possible.

Thanks,

Liz

P.S. my requests were amusing - I wanted Baked Lays, Brown Cane Sugar and Diet Mountain Dew! :)

Brown Cane Sugar
I have brown cane sugar in my kitchen. I bought it from the nearby small K-market. Only its origins is not US but Costa Rica.

And when it all arrives in store, the first American who says, "ewww, the prices are more than Walmart" deserves a Euro-sized slap.

This could be found in Stockmann

Though my guess is it's what was left over after their US promotion last year. It would be nice if it would be a regular on K-Kauppa shelves.

And in spite of the fact that I'm not a Septic / Merkin ... this would make my day...

I'd love to see low carb tortillas, Splenda and egg white mix to start up with...
Get in there...

Also some teriyaki beef jerky!
