Thank you ! If I call you and no one is at home to answer the phone, is that a "lost call"?

tuskin. Siinä tapauksessa:

'hän ei vastaa'
'hänen puhelinsa ei ole päällä'
'hän ei ole kotona'

(Paremmin: se ei vastaa, se ei ole kotona)

The definition seems to mean no connection made for any reason OTHER than engaged.

But in technobabble-jargon? I mean a 'serial bus driver' isn't 'sarjabussikuski' in computer lingo.

Lost call in computer jargon: you have to look that up in a dictionary.
I don't know about that.

Found it in a dictionary.

Lost call: hukkaan mennyt kutsu.

Something like that. The jargon terms are really fun if they pop up in say a tv show or some article and the translator is not in the right area...
