Broad beans

Hi all,

Could somebody tell me what "broad beans" are in Finnish - and in which section should I search for them in the supermarket (ie fresh, canned, frozen?). Thanks!

Broad bean is härkäpapu.

I have bought them dried. There are different growers, here is one: http://www.lassilantila.fi/luomu4.html. Finnish broad beans are a little smaller than those grown more south.

In Helsinki Kauppatori there is a vegetable stand that sells every summer fresh organic broad beans (härkäpäpu). Fresh broadbeans are wonderful with some Italian pecorino cheese.

Thanks!!! I've looked for them but never found them. Shame they are not available frozen though, or even tinned. I love beans in soups and salads, or thrown in stews.
