Hi, I need your help.
Looking through the Nordic Nutrition Recommendation, I noticed that there are
not mentioned any nutrient based guidelines for Vitamin K. This confuses me.
WHY? (Because I don't think, that there was an error in the database... maybe..., just tell me, it`s right; if u can`t tell me why!)
other thing: Any one here, who is a native English speaker and is confident with such themes (life sciences, biology ecc.)?
KIITOS, G

Vitamin K is found in cabbage, cauliflower, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, cereals, soybeans, and other vegetables. Vitamin K is also made by the bacteria that line the gastrointestinal tract.
Vitamin K deficiency is very rare. It occurs when the body can't properly absorb the vitamin from the intestinal tract. Vitamin K deficiency can also occur after long-term treatment with antibiotics.
So... Normally the body is able to produce vitamin K by itself - supplements are rarely needed.

Thanks, I know; even though some doubt if the intestinal synthesis is enough... but anyway a deficiency is rare.
I was just confused NOT to find any nutrient based guidelines neither in the Nordic Nutrition Rec. nor Finnish Rec.s. Because I know other guidelines where they are actually putting a value for Vitamin K.
But that is probably the reason...
