taxes ..?

Post by snoopx » Mon Aug 04, 2008 3:36 pm

I have a question: what it's the limit from when you start to pay the taxes ? it must to be a level, and if you have more than this level you pay taxes and if you have under this level you don't pay ! ? So how it's working ?

hmmz...i was to the tax office to apply for the tax card and i can't have one because they need my finnish social security number and i will have'it in 2 or 3 weeks  ... damn, but my company they can't pay me because i don't have yet a bank account and i can't open an account without finnish id... ...and i was to police to register like permanent resident and they can't do this untill maistratti will put me in the computer with address where i'm living etc etc, because the police in malmi they ask me about the house contract but i don't have'it on my name because i'm living with my fiancee so the apartment it's on her name...so everything will be done in 2 or 3 weeks when maistratti will add in the network my name, my address and i will have the finnish id  ....damn...

when everything will be done i will put a big thread on this forum...about what and where and how to register like a permanent resident in finland because i've heard 200 story's and 200 different story's but the real solution it's the 201 and soon i will put'it on the forum  it's easy and everything will be ok!

a nice day/night to everybody :)

i must to cry ? no, no no.... but it's a problem the bureaucracy in Finland, but still it's ok if you know all that you must to do...but what's happening in here that you heard a lot of story's and after you are confused and you don't know where to go and what to do...but now i know how and what you must to do if you are a member of EU and you move to Finland i can give you an advise where to go and what to do! short and precise...not story's and story's...

IIRC yuore soldier, this is like crossfire or minefield. Hard to explain exactly you have to experience it. I suppose, im not soldier :)
And as im finnish and never been outside (dont count holidays) i couldnt write onkko style instructions.
In my instructions i suppose that someone reading is retard so... In detail and step by step and still they ask AARGHH "here reads press enter WHAT TO DO!" "ööh, press enter?" "ohh!".
Take this as crash course to finnish mentality, you have to have papers and Fit In The Box! and everything ok

maybe if you read the "how to do" that has been posted 1001 times and now once more:

EU person gets first a work contract from the job. Written.
(if boss says no, need number first - tell to call the maistraatti and ask themselves what does the person need)

With contract + rental agreement (or the HotBlonde) goes to the maistraatti and says: my job, need tax card, need personal number.
Maistraatti gives a number on a paper saying temporarily registered alien.
With two papers goes to the tax office =verotoimisto
Says: my number, my salary, need tax card.
Gets tax card.
Goes to bank - says my number, my address, my job, gets account number.
Gives tax card and personal number and account number to employer; works.
First salary comes to account, bank statement comes to home.
Takes work contract, magistrate paper, bank statement, rent contract... all papers: goes to Police station with 40€. Says: I want EU registration. Gets EU registration paper.
Goes to Maistraatti: says: I am now EU registered, I want domicile permanent. Gets paper.
Goes to KELA, says Want KELA card, fills in paper, gets a lot of grief.
Welcome to hell, live here now.

see now, it is easy. right office, right order, ask what you can have and you will get it... and remember its ALL THE PAPERS

Once apon a time, a decade or so ago, I came to Finland, and I opened a bank account, without a social security number - I only showed them my passport. To this day, I doubt that they have my social security number.

right...
and i was to maistratti and i say the same: "me from EU country, work here, look my contract! need social security number fast, because need open bank account, and need for tax card and need for everything...and she say's: feel this paper, she make some copy's of my contract and my passport and the answer: YOU WILL HAVE'IT in 2 or 3 weeks! have a nice day!"

and it's donne...to the police, the same: " me from EU country, live here, work here, look my contract and i'm living with my "fiancee-hot-blonde-finnish-girl" but she say's: "if you don't have the home contract on your name, we must to wait that maistratti will put your name on the network and they willgive you that ID, so after this we will send you at home the certificat of registration of i don't know what" and the same: 2 - 3 weeks i must to wait"....and i'm waiting... *

so nice :)

Are you kidding me? If you think that bureaucracy in Finland is a problem, you've seen nothing yet! Consider yourself lucky you don't have to face German bureaucracy (tons of paperwork and you better speak German fluently or else, if you want tax advice, no one will give it to you in tax office), or Polish one (messy, no one will tell you where to go to get stuff, no one will speak English to you, either).

Getting paperwork done in Finland is totally easy!

Pursuivant: yes the lady from the maistratti she told me that are a lot of "waiting paper's"...so it will be like this: 2-3 weeks...

Damn the life it's beautiful
