today we have played against Denmark, we have won 0-3 in a good second half with an incredible Xavi and Xabi Alonso it looks that the change of coach it hadn´t affected to our national team...

Here are the results of the first match of the BBVA Liga.

VALENCIA 3-0 MALLORCA
NUMANCIA 1-0 BARCELONA
ATLÉTICO 4-0 MÁLAGA
ATHLETIC 1-3 ALMERÍA
OSASUNA 1-1 VILLARREAL
BETIS 0-1 RECREATIVO
SPORTING 1-2 GETAFE
RACING 1-1 SEVILLA
DEPORTIVO 2-1 R. MADRID
ESPANYOL 1-0 VALLADOLID

So the fisrt leader is the Atletico de madrid, a great match with an incredible Forlan and Agüero, Barcelona lost with the worst team in this Liga, Numancia the played an awfull match with Henry that i think he should go to another club and more of the same of the last year, if they continu playing like this this year they´re not going to win anything...

The Real madrid lost against Depor in Riazor another time, they don´t win in Riazor for 18 years, so we have to wait another year to see them win...

Thank you and see you soon... bye.

Not many fans of Spanish football on here it would seem.

Interesting to see that the ladyboy Torres broke a fingernail last week so is out for 3 weeks.

If I followed La Liga closely I guess I'd also enjoy watching soap operas.

Fondo: Tell me, which team will be the outstanding comedy team of 2008/09?

Last season it was Valencia that was the absolute joke of a club. They must be absolutely screwed financially after all the hiring and firing, p*ss-poor management (team and board level) and clowning around.
Beth? Hä? 什么?

I was quite pleased to flick through the channels and find a Real game on tv on sunday night, if i get a nudge (no doubt from Salopian) that a big game is on in future Real, Barca etc then i'd probably tune in.
Unfortunately my initial interest in the game dwindled rather rapidly.
There are some great players and clubs with a great history, but having watched english football for 30+ years i find the slow pace of spanish football rather boring. I've tried before to watch spanish football but struggle to develop an interest.

The other problem with the Spanish game is that the players constantly fall over and plead with the referee for 'nothing' fouls and demand the ref 'cards' players even when they know no foul was committed, as evidenced in the 25 minutes i watched on sunday night. It makes my blood boil when a big lump like Ruud Van Horseface falls on the floor fake-crying like his grandma has died, it's very sad that these professionals think that can act like children in order to cheat and gain an advantage. All the shenanigans mean i often drift away from the game through lack of enjoyment.

Keep us posted though as to how the season is developing and when the big games are coming up.

Fondo, Which team do you support?

well i,m a barcelona supporter, the last 2 years have been dramatic for us and this year when pep guardiola started to coach the team all of us thought that maybe this year will be different... but after the last sunday all of us we´re thinking that we continue with the same problems. We atack by the center not by the sides, Henry is finished, and the only new good thing that we have is Bojan and Messi.
Bye...
