I knew this guy who was trying to sell the moon from the sky, but I guess he could sell a satellite...
...basically you should check if and where you can put the dish if you can physically get a direct view, the satellites are pretty low in orbit. if you can have a dish in your yard then that gives you some options, but if you have a balcony in the wrong direction isn't much help that then...

Depends what you want. Most of them are south-west, so your balcony should face between south and west, you need to be at higher floors, and not have high buildings or trees just in front of you. Use the calculator of the website I have given, but first you need to decide what do you want (what package on what satellite).
