Hi all,
1. Does anybody know what is the difference between a "Ay" (somebody said it stands for "avainyhtio") and a TMI (toiminimi)?
2. Now, I am trying to finalise a company for some LVI job; however, I need to understand how long the company has been around, its own credit report, and so on. Is there any way to find out such stuff? Also, considering that they might be working while I am not here, is it possible to also verify the workers? E.g. a query at the local police station? Or some registry perhaps? Before somebody shoots at me, no, not being really distrustful and yes, I know we are in Finland, but still, I would like some surety considering our current circumstance with a young baby at home.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Kind regards!

Re: Ay versus Toiminimi!
1. AY = Avoin Yhtiö, basicly near same as TMI but with multiple owners.

Kaupparekisteri is a public registry of all businesses, there's for example names of founders and owners, the latest income and balance statements, etc. Or, sometimes there's not, and that's a big warning sign.
