I have a question which somebody of you can propably answer. My friend has a foreign wife who is studying now under the immigration plan and having kotoutumistuki from the government. He told me that there's likely to be one month break this winter when she is not studying, so he was wondering if his wife is entitled to have kotoutumistuki during that time if she isn't able to find a course (or job, that is) for that time. He thinks that during this one month she would be under the työttömyysturva (unemployment benefit) instead of kotoutumistuki, because she wouldn't be studying. She would be active jobseeker in employment office in any case. I didn't know how it is and Kela web page didn't give clear picture how it is so I was thinking that here is propably more knowledge about this. Does anybody know how it is?
He was also thinking that if she can't find a suitable course (or job) for that time, she could travel back to her home country to see her family there, how would this affect the whole case? Does anybody know?
