Post by Clairew » Sun Oct 12, 2008 6:38 pm

Hi all
I have searched the forum and havent found any useful, up to date info on Aerobics classes. Does anyone know where I could find them in Helsinki?
Thanks
Claire

Most people who want aerobics classes join a gym like Wellness or Sats for example:

All those have several centres dotted around Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa.
A monthly subscription costs anything from 50-80€ but that gives you unlimited access to classes and to weight training etc. Some have a pool, they all have saunas.
There are smaller, independent gyms around too and they are generally cheaper. So when you get here look for one near where you live.
I go to SATS in Espoo (but I don't do aerobics, I prefer stretching, pilates etc). The people there all speak English but the classes are usually in Finnish (I haven't found this to be a problem, except maybe for Pilates in the beginning). Probably in the city centre the trainers use more English.

There are also classes organised by the City Council and they are really cheap, but would be mostly in the evening and the classes run according to the school calendar, so if you wanted to join a class it would probably not be possible before January.

Where are you from? I lived in Kyalami (briefly a long time ago)
