Where is a good place to get childrens feet measured?
In the UK we go to Clarks who do the measuring (width also) and fitting.
My little one is a year old on Saturday and is walking now so we want to get some shoes. No idea who can fit properly though.
Good place to get babies feet measured?
Re: Good place to get babies feet measured?
they dont offer this service in finland as far as i can tell and i have searched!there is a size guide in stockmann and k market but it doesnt do width,i had my little lady done in clarks in ireland and asked advice about what style suited her foot, inc width arch etc...
Re: Good place to get babies feet measured?
The only places that do full-service shoe sales are Stockman, and perhaps Sokos. We eventualy managed to get a half-proper fitting in stockman...
The thing is that all the shoes of the same size aren't really the same size, so they don't both with the measure. Instead they take the insole out and hold it against the foot to see if it's about the same size. Next they put the shoe on your little darling and check if they can get a finger down the front. If that all works then the shoe fits.
The other thing about this bloody country is that the shoes aren't sold in different widths (e.g. a, b, c, d, e, f, g), so everyone's foot must be the same width, right? (I think stockmann had a couple of brands with two different widths, but they were bloody expensive - 50 Euros - and of course the only ones that fitted my eldest)
Humbug.

Re: Good place to get babies feet measured?
I saw (nearly tripped over) an abandoned foot measuring tool/gauge near the kids shoe rack in City Market Myyrmäki Sara.
But I doubt very much if they employ anyone trained to use it....but worth a check.
But this is Finland...when he gets a bit bigger you will find at least 3 experts, accross the other side of the shopping centre, in InterSports who will very accurately fit him out for skis.

People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

That will do him for this winter then!sinikettu wrote: But this is Finland...when he gets a bit bigger you will find at least 3 experts, accross the other side of the shopping centre, in InterSports who will very accurately fit him out for skis.

Looks like I will just have to do my best with the shoes now and get him fitted at New Year in Clarks. We got him cruising shoes last August and he was already a 4H (size 20 I think) with a very broad foot. Im worried that we will end up with something too narrow here.

Re: Good place to get babies feet measured?
When we bought the first pair of shoes for our daughter in Stockmann, we asked someone for assistance and they checked the right size (using the insole) and recommended a couple of brands of shoes as her feet are quite narrow.
