Re: Need info on cake shops
I made Mickey for my boys first birthday, this November.

I made a normal round cake and another to cut the ears.
Bought fondant icing and food dye in the cook ware shop from Helsinki centre and then just coloured, rolled and cut the shapes I needed. It did take a while but was worth it! You could also pipe the features on with butter cream that has food dye in it.
I did also see lidl have some silicone cake moulds in at the moment. They have boxes of 3, one was mickeys head. It wasnt a big one though, but it could go on a bigger cake as a top layer.

Yes, they also have Xmas moulds. I got the Christmas Tree (there was a snowman, a bell, etc). Haven't used it yet, didn't look very rigid so I'll have to make a fairly "heavy" cake to keep it in shape (maybe a fruit cake, and then do marzipan and icing).Sara wrote: I did also see lidl have some silicone cake moulds in at the moment.
