Hi,

The HSE has a small gym which is free to use for all students at the school.
You'll find it around the back of the main building.
There's also a sauna and a small sports hall where you can play futsal/salibandy etc.
Various student groups also organise classes for martial arts and the like.

No worries.
HSE is possibly the best Helsinki school for freebies and discounts over and above what all other students get.
You can use the Helsinki University sports facilities in Viikki at a subsidised rate (sometimes cheaper than the Uni students themselves, and sometimes totally free) and there's plenty of sports clubs you can join that are supported financially by KY, the student union.
If you want to go somewhere a bit nicer for your workout, HSE has a deal with the Motivus gym in the tunnel between the Kamppi and Forum shopping centres.
It still costs a fair wedge, but the facilities are much better.
Also, there's a few bars and cafes/resaurants where HSE students gets discounts such as Cafe Red on Arkadiankatu (20%) and Johto Cafe in Kamppi (was 50% on all food and drinks but I think it might have changed since I last went).

Exchange students have trips organised for them to places like Lapland and St Petersburg. I'd recommend going on these as I've been told they're loads of fun and very cheap. Apparently, KY is per capita the richest student union in the world (they invested wisely in the past, I believe) so you should try and find out all the ways they help out exchange students enjoy their time here.
G'luck.

Waste of money and time - Learn about bodyweight activities and do them in the nearest park / home...saves a ton of cash and far more effective than doing a weight based routine.
