Re: Good Fitness centre at Espoo(Arr. Lepavara)
I am a member of Fressi which owns or is partners with dana-fitness in Leppävaara and they have tons of weight machines and treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, etc. I usually go to Fressi which is in espoonlahti but sometimes if its a slow day at the office I'll go to dana-fitness which lets me use them without paying any extra. Anyway, I haven't gone to any classes there, but the general gym area is really good I think. But I don't know how full they are in the evenings, during lunch time its pretty empty.
Anyway you can find out more about them and Fressi from their web pages.

Sats and Elixia.... are both in Espoo.
http://www.sats.fi (in Iso Omena, Matinkylä)
http://www.elixia.fi/club.aspx?id=212194&mid=212194 (in Sello, Leppävaara)
I think they are quite expensive. IIRC Elixia once quoted me something like 80e a month. I pay 50e or maybe 55e (???) in Sats but I have a mornings only membership so can only go to classes and use the machines before 2pm and at weekends.
As for public fitness classes, you would have to look on http://www.espoo.fi/tyovaenopisto The blue booklet Espoon kaupungin työväenopisto Opinto-ohjelma (in the library or on their website, pdf file on right of the screen) p.151-183 gives details of all the fitness classes organised by the local municipality eg: Tai Chi, Pilates, joga, fysiojumppa, circuit training etc. Prices vary. You an sign up on the internet (if you have a social security number) or by phone and there is usually someone who speaks English.
