Is Studying In Finland Worth It?
Hi Everyone,
I want to study in finland. I want after studying in finland, i would find a job and settle down, if possible, marry a finnish girl. Do you think it's easy to find a job after getting a b.sc degree?

Tell more about yourself (where do you live, what education do you have, how old are you, ....) now we have no idea if it is possible or what problems you might encounter.

From my personal experience, the "color" of your skin might be a drawback here in Finland plus Finns are still far from being used with foreigners.
I met today an African guy, who graduated a polytechnic in Finland, smart guy and he said to me that after his Master Degree he will leave because he doesn't want to work in cleaning all his life, considering that he is educated...so I would say, think twice!
But, since you are a software engineer, that might be your ticket, because in IT, it is much more easy to get a job using English language.

How do attitudes "on the street" differ in Finland today about African versus Indian ethnicity? Or do they?
I don't know if I'd be able to answer that question about the U.S. Attitude clusters are still so complex in both cases.

As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

To the OP: have you ever been to Finland? I would recommend a visit before committing your entire future.
Also, I don't think it's particularly easy finding a job anywhere with a b.sc.

Very bad time to leave the job and take higher studies unless ur fired. Better to wait once the economy is back else you may be doing cleaning jobs that too difficult to get here.
There are many layoff and firing in IT sector here too.

The one big Finnish company you probably know (Nokia) seems to employ a fairly many Indian engineers here too (just based on the looks of the people getting into their offices in the morning and getting out in the evening). I think most of the have not studied here. Right now, the work situation is bad, what would it be after you had not finnished your studies I do not know, but if Nokia and it subcontractors are not doing well then we'll likely have rather lot of native engineers looking for job too.
Waiting untill the eceonomy turns better in your current job and then looking into possibilites getting here as an employed person might be a reasonable option?
