I think there were some stores nearby, but I forgot which ones. My friend is driving there, and i was wondering if there was a Markantalo or something similar? And nearest place to fill up on petrol?

Very few.

There is a Mcdonalds and 2 petrol stations on the West Side of Espontie.

There is a K-Rauta on the South side of Turunväylä ... I don't remember there being any Markantalo there, but it's not somewhere I go very often.

Close to Ikea Espoo there is a small commercial area with Motornet, Hong Kong and a few paint stores, DIY places (the K.Rauta). On the north side of Ikea there is now a big furniture store (Isku? Asko? or something similar, missing on the google map, it is quite new).
Otherwise there are shops in Espoonkeskus including a recently opened Lidl (on Espoontie/Finoontie) and a biggish new shopping centre (including a Clas Ohlson) right in the centre, near Espoontori.
