Search "unemployment fund" on this forum, then come back and ask if anything is unclear.

I can't see any need to let them know if you join YTK.sujesh wrote:should i inform my employer abt this ?
Also consider union membership (which usually includes unemployment fund in the monthly fee). This is usually a more expensive option, but can offer other benefits, such as legal support should you ever need it.

Re: Unemployment insurance
the amount deducted is "KELA base" so if you can come with 20 bucks a day no problem.. YTK at least offers the salary-tested as minimum.

Re: Unemployment insurance
the KELA base, which you contribute as teh deduction from salary, is abt 20 euros a day, so if you can live on that then you are quite a fakirsujesh wrote:i am just not sure , i understand you fully . i understood the Kela base part , i didn't understand the second part ..u said "20 bucks a day no problem"

Re: Unemployment insurance
i was looking for information for joining YTK and found that if we spend some more euros (17 i guess ) we can join there union also , which provides legal support . i made this note here because in many places in this forum mentioned like they don't provide legal advice ( looks it started recently ) ..
Re: Unemployment insurance
Simplest things is to Join YTK. It only cost €67 per year and you need this back up in case you lose your job.
KELA will pay you something small if you are unemployed but it is not enough to live on. YTK will make it up to 60 - 70% of your salary for up to 2 years if the worst happens.
I joined YTK 6 years ago and now I'm grateful that I did as I am now under YT negotiations and only have a 50/50% chance of keeping my job..
YTK will soften the blow if the same happens to you, it is not a lot of money to pay out once a year..
