BBC using Antenna TV Service
Hi,
I used to be in a cable Rivitalo and had BBC news but now I moved to Antenna building and it is not available. Does anyone else have this issue?

BBC not being available on terrestrial services is a fact, not an issue.

Where? To watch BBC programming over the Interweb, I have to use a vpn to make it look like I´m in the UK and then I can download archived programmes through iPlayer. No live feed AFAIK.Mook wrote:Well, I s'pose that it's available on the internet
Not that I need to access BBC News over the web, (we have 3 BBC channels through cable (BBC World, BBC Entertainment & BBC Lifestyle)

BBC world is free to air on many satellites http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/United-Kingdom.html
you should get your housing company to add a small dish and add that to their channels, either that or put up your own dish for something like 13E.
just because they're not hooked up to the cable network doesn't mean they can't have a dish too and add more channels.

Fair comment, although as a side point I know 10s of Finns who are avid viewers of BBC World (and other BBC channels), chosen because they want to develop the British accent rather than the American one which prevails on much of the "English" language TV available in Finland.

Doesn´t that just depend on what kind of channel package you buy with the satellite dish? I mean, we have always had all the BBC channels. We have a Channel+ package.

Re: BBC using Antenna TV Service
well we actually have a hugh jazz (or had) satellite dish on the roof. however because it *costs money* as a few euros per month per flat as kopiosto fees because of some stupid rule of a common satellite dish they wouldn't hook it up when we got the new antennae system... and we had the cable being dug on the road and they wanted something like 20K to hoop up the house so we told them where to shove their cable... see now it *costs money*...Karhunkoski wrote:Fair comment, although as a side point I know 10s of Finns who are avid viewers of BBC World (and other BBC channels), chosen because they want to develop the British accent rather than the American one which prevails on much of the "English" language TV available in Finland.Pursuivant wrote:unless you live high enough and have a balcony into the right direction... it costs money and fees... you think the neighbours want to depart money some limeys can watch BBC? what then when the limeys piss off?

Or possibly the tenants just want bargain basement rents, and are willing to accept anything as long as its cheap?
