HI, I googled like amandak said and I managed to find one listing in english, its in Kempele though...Follow this link:
http://www.vekkulizammakko.com/engmain.html , they start from real young so a 6 month old should be able to go to classes there!! There seem to be others held at the main swimming hall, but that info is in Finnish so I am not much help with that one, maybe if you simply go the main swimming hall you may have more help. It does appear as though there is something there too.......

Thanks for all the replies... :)

We phoned Raksila Uimahalli and they ask us to bring the baby tomorrow,

even though the class started two weeks ago.

And we'll call Kempele one tomorrow, it looks more interesting...

Btw, does anybody know about Diapers that baby should while swimming ?

The lady who talked with us over the phone told just normal swimming kit is enough,

but we're afraid that he might make the pool dirty :(

In most of the swimming hall you'll have to have a swimming diapper. They sell some in the big K Market with the regular nappies.

With my daughter we had a washable swimming nappy and I guess you must get them here too. I found that disposable ones would soak up a lot more water and looked pretty uncomfortable.

Do you remember where you got it? I missed the first lesson when the instructor was selling them so I'm ending up with the disposable ones.

Thanks again all your replies...

Our baby will go to his first swimming lesson in Kempele on Saturday.

We plan to take him Raksila Uimahalli, after he get used to swimming a bit.

Btw, I found those disposable ones (Libaro) in K-Market, Raksila.

But no luck with washable ones... :(

Please can you let us know the costs of the lessons, how it goes, your impression of the classes etc etc. I emailed them but have not got a reply and I am really keen to get my baby there as soon as possible if its worth it. (Baby only due in June only, but I still want to plan a few things :-)
Thanks

Hi Friends, We went to vekkulizammakko Swimming lessons (http://www.vekkulizammakko.com/engmain.html) in Kempele last Saturday.
It costs 12,5 Euro per time, and the duration is 20 mins per lesson.
both my wife and I went to the pool with the baby and the teacher taught us some techniques and we practiced them.
Our baby was enjoying being there and there are more then 10 other babies were in his group.
I think we are going to continue this lessons and in the mean time we plan to take him to Oulun Uimahalli with us.

All the details are in the website and you have to sign up via the website first...

Happy swimming... :D

So it's roughly the same here. With Simsalabim in Helsinki it's 15€ per 30 mn lesson.
