Post by CzRanito » Fri Feb 13, 2009 10:07 am

I heard there is some bus going directly from Vantaa airport to Tampere. Does anyone know where I could find out more ? (Timetables, prices...) Do I have to book a ticket in advance ?

No you don't need to book a ticket in advance. They are going quite often and leave fairly close from the exit doors of the International Terminal. Looking from http://www.eb.fi (siististi cool ;) )I found you a schedule. Looks like the bus leaves from bay 13. Just ask information at the airport if you don't know where that is. You can buy the ticket from the bus driver, dunno if he takes plastic or not so better make sure you have cash with you.

"Maksuvälineinä käteinen, pankki- ja luottokortit
Busseissa ja linja-autoasemilla käyvät maksuvälineinä eurojen lisäksi pankki- ja yleisimmät luottokortit. Busseissa ei käy kuitenkaan toistaiseksi Visa Electron."

So accepted payments are: cash, (finnish) dept- and credit cards. But I too would prepare to pay with cash... its bit*h to rush for cash when the machine decides it can't read your card and driver says that he'll leave in 5 minutes... been there done that. (ok, I wasn't rushing for cash, but rushed to buy ticket from matkahuolto office... where someone had decided to fix himself the card reader...)
