This week Tuesday and Thursday are the final two days of the opera Daddy's Girl at the Finnish National Opera:

Three women in the tumult of history

"Opera is at its best when it tells a story through the great emotions of a small person," says composer Olli Kortekangas. He explores the history of independent Finland through the lives of a mother, a daughter and a grandmother. In the middle of all this is Anna, a girl who never saw her father, who was killed in the war.

Isän tyttö (Daddy´s Girl) has been hailed as Kortekangas´s best opera to date, tapping into the melodic vein of true classic opera.

Sung in Finnish, with Finnish and English surtitles.

I just called and there still are tickets available for both nights. The prices are 14, 30, 42, 68, or 80 Euros.

It starts at 7pm.

I happen to know who "Mike in Vantaa" is. He is not a spammer. He is just looking for people who would be interested in joining him for a night at the opera and there is nothing wrong with that. On the contrary.
