I am an amateur painter and I usually paint with water colors. I did a painting in canvas at school. The board I was using was the right size I wanted to do a painting of. I use water color instead of acrylic now. Is it possible to use water color over a dried acrylic painting? Do you have any real idea? If so, plz let me know asap.

Ok what are you trying to do? You have an acrylic painting and you want to do a different one over this? Or are you trying to make some kind of effect with the water colour? Its easier and better to just go and buy watercolour paper to use for your new painting. You could cover a previously done acrylic with gesso to make a new surface for an acrylic painting. Water colour works differently and the transparency best appears when using the paper weights suitable for it. I hope that helps you.

You could make a perfectly smooth gesso (white stuff to prime the board and make a fresh surface) then try but not sure if you will get the results you want.
