Fashion Brand & Chain Discount Shop

Hi all,

I am a postgraduate student and in need of some information in regard to Finland Fashion brand & Chain Discount Shop...

My university database contain little to none information in regard to Finland Fashion brand, could anyone please help me with this information???
Also, I would like to know if Finland has any chain discount shop or department store, like Kmart or Target in Australia, Costco in US..

If people have information like this, please kindly share and you will be given credit on my paper due at the end of the year 09...

No we don't have any stores, we have home industry and sell homespun garnments in the marketplaces.

Finland Fashion brand... don't ring any bells, quick googling confirms: "No results found for "Finland Fashion brand"." Did you mean Finnish fashion brands or or brands that do well in Finland? Or Finnish fashion generally?

As for discount stores, I wasn't sure what you meant but this bit from wikipedia might have cleared it for me: "Many of the major discounters are now opening "supercenters", which add a full-service grocery store to the traditional format." So you mean shop that looks like supermarket but don't sell (fresh)food. Names like Minimani, Robinhood, Tokmanni, Hong Kong springs to mind...

Sorry I was very detail enough, I am looking for local Finland Fashion brand, so far I have found out 2 major Fashion brand in Finlad Marimekko & L-Fashion Group which contain Rukka, Ice, Ril, Aleksi 13, Story, Big L & Your Face...However, I want to find more if there is any on the market!!!

In terms of Chain Discount Shop, my goal is to find Chain Discount shop/department store which sell cloths, cloths which has their own brand. For example in Australia, chain discount shop/department store which sell their own branding cloths include Big W, Kmart, Target, More or Less etc... Is there any similiar in Finland???

Try google.fi and search for fashion finland maybe? There´s even a site with that name that apparently has inglis-language pages. Yes, there are several chains which sell more AND less crappy clothes. Prisma, Anttila, Sokos..

Tarjoustalo (part of Tokmanni group, I linked that) has Janina F, but apart from that I don't think they have any "brands". Also I haven't been tho any discount shop for months...

I really don't know any local fashion brands and I have gut feeling that local brands that "make it" here, must first get something going something abroad. Also I am not so keen on fashion... my eyes usually take year(s) to see something as good looking... so now that skinny jeans out of fashion again I might in fact buy a pair... if I get my gut out of way.

Isn't Kmart American?

There are lots of Finnish fashion brands a few which spring to mind are

Krap Ahl are Swedish, but present in Finland http://www.kappahl.com/fi/
Dressmann are not Finnish either but are present here http://www.dressmann.fi and sell their own brands.

The major supermarkets also sell their own labels e.g. for the K Chain (Kesko) I think their own brand is called "Blue"
