Looking for pen pals

Post by J.Honkanen » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:15 pm

I would like to find a pen pal for my 6 year old daughter. Maybe for myself too, if any parents would like to write. :) We would like to do this by good old fashioned snail mail, not e-mail. We would like to find pen pals who live in Finland (we live in California, USA) Letters can be written in english or finnish, but our finnish isn't very good yet. Anyone interested?

Does anyone know where else we might look for pen pals?

My guess is that not too many that young can write more than their name. Maybe you should wait 3 years? Kids here don´t start school before they are 7. Many can read before that, but writing usually comes later. By the time they are about nine they have developed interests beyond their toy box :)

I guess I should have thought of that. ;) Kids here start school at 5 or 6 and can usually read and write a little bit by the time the school year is over. Oh well, maybe in a few years we'll try again. Would any adults like to be my pen pal? E-mail or snail mail is fine.
