Can someone tell me the best approach to convert an Australian (non-EU) pilots' licence to a Finnish equivalent? With summer on its way, I can't wait to do some trips to far flung national parks etc. I plan to visit Malmi airport soon but would appreciate any info. This is for pure recreational flying...

Being a recreational pilot in Finland
Re: Being a recreational pilot in Finland
You will probably have to jump through a few hoops, but it shouldn't be too bad. They will certainly have to see your existing license and possibly require a test on the legal aspects of recreational flying in Finland as well as an actual flight test. Like most bureaucracies, they want as much of your money as they can justifiably get.

Socialism has never managed to create anything beyond corpses, poverty and oppression.
