[Yet another] The barber close to the center of Helsinki

Post by network_engineer » Tue May 26, 2009 12:28 pm

Hi all,

A few months ago, I posted about this barber on a related post. I received few queries asking about the location details etc and I did not have them then ( I just knew the place). :D So, here it is:

Salon Nadem
Kolmas Linja 1, 00530 Helsinki
Phone: 045 127 5024

The place is close to the meat market (kaupahalli) and right next to the Asian shop.

I have been using him fairly often (since 2008 December), very nice, clean and decent cut - just the way I want it. My opinion: Great barber, but I don't suppose he is a Hollywood stylist, but I am not looking for a stylist either. The most convenient part for me - one can usually get a slot right away! He sometimes charges me 12 EUR and sometimes 15 EUR. Standard advertised price is 15 EUR though.

Cheers.

Yo....

So I'd like to know, is this barber good with cutting hair of guys with african descent? Or is he just good with white guys hair and those like the dude posing in network_engineer's pic      .

I've been going to an African barber shop in Hakaniemi (as they're the only ones I know of catering to ppl with african descent) since being here in 2006 and they suck!!! They can't understand english properly and the last time I went and told the guy I wanted a 'high top' (i.e. Kid n' Play) he sheared off all my hair. He didn't understand a word I said even though he asked me in english, "how do I want it?". I was so upset!!! Plus these guys charge 20€ minimum.

I think the fashion police arrest people sporting that barnet...That's why you don't see them and not seeing them around has made you forget that once upon a time hair like that did actually exist.

This poor soul was jailed for life for his mistake

This indivual was executed as the jacket was deemed too offensive as well. Amnesty did not care.

Sadly this man has never been punished for his crimes (whats up with the lumpy pants??)

Hi,

I am in Helsinki (seems to be a very expensive city), near Kamppi metro railway station. I am looking for a good barber/salon where one can get ones hair coloured (for male).

Something very reasonable (price wise). Any reccommendations?

Thanks for the Barber in Hakaniemi.
