Please HELP with PHILIPS light

Post by missvietfin » Wed May 27, 2009 10:05 am

Hi friends,

I am living in Hoas apartment and need to change new light for the entrance hall's light of the apartment.
However, I could not find any substitutes for the light called PHILIPSmaster PL-S 11W/830/4P (Made in Poland) in any supermarkets or household lighting departments around Helsinki, even Stockmann.

Does anyone know any lights shop in Helsinki or any shops that have such kind of light, please tell me. I really need that during this week.

Thanks a lot and hope to get your answer soon.

With best regards,

a poor girl

Can’t suggest any one place but try these Google searches:
(The official type designation of that 4-pin base would appear to be ”2G7” and it needs to be an 11W bulb.)

Looks like something Clas Ohlsson (e.g. in Kamppi) might have. Or maybe K-rauta (e.g. in Ruoholahti shopping center).

Thats a bogstandard fluerescent light. I'd opt for Claesohlsson as well.

Bulbs with the G23 base are much more commonly available, methinks, as they’re usually used in fluorescent desk lights. The 2G7 base is apparently mostly used in exit signs and other bit more specialized applications, which is why ordinary department stores might not necessarily stock them.

If Clas Ohlsson is no good then there is a store OPPOSITE Iso Omena in Espoo (on the main Piispansilta road that goes over the Länsiväylä bridge) that stocks Philips spare parts and accessories. I went there to get a bulb for my Philips Bright Light (but that was VERY expensive). They can order parts if they don't have them in stock. There might be a similar store in Helsinki, not sure. I got the address from Gigantti when I asked them to help me.

Even though the OP emphasized ”PHILIPS” on the subject line, Philips is not the only brand with this bulb/base type on the market. One of the web pages I linked to in the above lists at least Osram Dulux S/E and Sylvania TC-SE as alternatives to the Philips PL-S 4P. There might be others as well.

Hi,
Many thanks to your help :D . Finally I found one in Prisma. There are some online-shopping websites but I could nt wait till it arrives.

Wish you all best
