How would a regular Finnish graduate go about retraining for a vocational skill such as, for example, carpentry, plumbing etc?
What are the chances that this would be possible for a foreigner living in Finland without Finnish language skills?
Thanks.

VET (Vocational education and training) is probably the best way of achieving some kind of fluency in Finnish. There are schools that offer courses in Finnish and there are also schools which offer places to foreigners who are motivated to learn.
CLIL (content and language integrated learning) is fast becoming the hottest thing in language teaching/learning. The idea is that you learn a language through another subject. Not just learning the language for the sake of the language. It really makes sense.
