You will graduate in 2011 and you want to take the entrance exams this September and defer for a year, if you are accepted, in order to start in 2011?
I believe that the answer is no, you are not able to do that. I could be wrong, however.

if someone answers this question yes, I'm going to shoot myself. I would have loved to deferred my placement a year.
I think the answer is no as well. It states that "Confirmation of the study place is binding and cannot be altered or cancelled." I believe it's only possible to take a break in the middle of one's studies, maybe only under certain conditions, like it's mandatory for a male Finn to service in the military for a year. You have to have TOEL scores to prove that you can speak and write enough English though.

OP's educational background is rather vague to me. Higher secondary -> 10 grades, plus 2 years (Is the OP doing lukio now?) If so, OP is not eligible for applying bachelors level polytechnics if by college, this is what he is referring to.
If the situation is otherwise and the OP does qualify for applying polytechnics, the way I see it, he can definitely start his college from 2011 onwards provided that he gets the study place for 2010 spring by getting through this September/October!? polytechnics entrance for bachelors. For some reasons, a student in polytechnics can opt for absence for 2 consecutive years. Is that amazing? Hell, it is.
