how does the pre-ib system goes in ressu lukio?

Post by cuttie » Sun Jul 26, 2009 1:45 pm

I was accepted into the pre-ib section of Ressu lukio this year, and im supposed to start buying the book right now which means I have to start chossing the subjects which im really confused about. I've heard from a lot of people that in the pre-Ib, you basically just choose 6 subjects from the six groups and thats it; and some other people have been telling me the totally differnet thing. And I've also heard from people that if you want to be a doctor, you can choose more than 6 subjects, like you can still have biology and chemistry or something even if you have already chosen the six subjects subjects, is that so? Im really confused right now!!!
ps. I've called the school but they never answered!!

The school won't answer until mid-August, they are all on holiday.

I suggest you go on Facebook and look for a student who is already there who can give you the info. I can't think of anyone on here who would know. I checked Ressu's website and also Mattlidens (IB school in Espoo) but couldn't find anything on pre-IB.

Did you apply from abroad?

IMO, if there was anything you needed to do before the beginning of term they would have sent you the info in the post.

My understanding (though I might be wrong) is that pre-IB is a broad-based curriculum and you will do many subjects, not just the six you choose for your IB diploma studies.
