I've been living in Finland nearly a year now with my Finnish boyfriend. In a couple of weeks I'll be moving to Canada to start a phd, and my bf hopes to follow me after a couple of months. For Canada, we qualify as 'Common-law partners' since we've lived together for a year, and if we can prove it he can get an open work permit, and thus an easier entry into Canada.
However, when looking at the form for declaration of common-law union, there is a part that has to be signed by a 'Commissioner of oaths' or other notoriety that has the authority to overview that kind of thing! If anyone knows anything about this, about who could fulfil this obligation in Finland (we live in Turku) or where we can find more information, it would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks
