I have no idea to both your questions BUT.... I once had some work in the Graniittitalo building behind Kamppi (it might be Antinkatu 3 or thereabouts) and if I remember correctly there was some kind of a nail school in there. I remember they seemed to have special rates for customers. It might just have been regular manicure though. Not sure.

To get a proper answer, you could try going into a nail art shop and ask one of the people working there. :D

I'd suppose that this would go under "kauneudenhoitoalan perustutkinto"? (if you're looking for a vocational certificate in cosmetology, which might include specialisation in nails)

You might try and ask http://www.skyo.fi... also check out http://www.koulutuscenter.com/In_english.html...

Vocational education - http://opintoluotsi.fi/en-GB/Studies_in ... Education/
Adult education centres (shorter courses) - http://opintoluotsi.fi/en-GB/Studies_in ... en_to_all/

But as penelope suggested, it could be a good idea to just contact the people working at the trade... if you've got the knack for it, perhaps you could do some training as an apprentice... I don't think you strictly speaking would "need" any certificates, it's not the same thing as working as a psychologist for example... but training would be important, of course, if you haven't got the basic skills yet.

Some cosmetological/manicure companies seem to advertise training as well ... see e.g. this one but, as you see, the info on the pages is mainly in Finnish.

Better late then never, I guess :D, its a bit out of your way but Kauneus Studio MiiQ in Hamina has one of the best trainers around. Next course starts in April. Mia is fluent in Finnish and English. http://www.miiq.fi/?en_nail-training-courses,10,http://www.miiq.fi/?fi_koulutus,10 hope this helps.

Cheers

There is a good nail art school in Tallinn, Estonia.

Sometimes we do nail art workshops in Helsinki.
There will be a gel designs workshop in Helsinki on 24 and 25th of Aprill and Acrylic designs workshop in Tampere on 5-6th of June.

You can see the designs in gallery on the website and the preview of the nail designs DVD on YouTube
